By using the Doc Scan & Sign app or opening a signing link, you agree to these terms.
The service
Doc Scan & Sign lets you scan, edit, and password-protect documents on your device, and optionally send a document to one other person to sign through a private web link. The signature-collection service is provided free of charge.
Electronic signatures
The app provides the mechanics of collecting an electronic signature: a drawn signature image, typed name, and signing timestamp placed into your document. We make no representation that a signature collected this way is legally valid, binding, or enforceable for your particular document or jurisdiction. Requirements for electronic signatures vary by country, state, and document type (some documents, such as wills or certain deeds, may require notarization or wet-ink signatures). You are responsible for determining whether this tool is appropriate for your use. Nothing in the app or this service is legal advice.
Acceptable use
- Only send documents you have the right to share.
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive — including impersonating a signer or misrepresenting a document.
- Don't attempt to access other users' documents, disrupt the service, or probe its security.
Your content
You keep all rights to your documents. You grant us only the limited, temporary permission needed to store and display a document you send for signature, for the retention periods described in the Privacy Policy (at most 14 days after signing).
Availability and warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-interruption. Keep your own copies of important documents; server copies are deleted automatically per the retention schedule.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of documents, profits, or business, arising from your use of the app or service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed fifty U.S. dollars (US $50) or the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.
Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the signature-collection service, or refuse service for abuse, at any time. Documents on your device are unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this address with its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
